Summit for Legal Professionals
Client meeting notes that stay with each matter
Client calls, intake conversations and internal case discussions each belong to a matter. Summit turns recorded conversations into transcripts and summaries on your Mac, with folders to organize matters and search to find what was said.
You choose where client conversations are processed
Transcription runs on your Mac, and there is no Summit account holding your meeting library. Select Local Models and summaries and chat run on your Mac too. If you choose a cloud AI provider, it receives transcript excerpts and, for chat, your question with related topics, action items and meeting titles and dates, so review that setting before recording client conversations. Markdown auto-export and iCloud sync are off until you turn them on.
Summit gives you control over where data is processed; privilege, confidentiality and recording-consent decisions remain yours under your professional obligations. The architecture page lists exactly what is stored and what can leave your Mac.
Keep each matter's notes together
- 1
Create a folder for each client or matter
Optionally give the folder a summary template so intake calls or case meetings are written up the same way.
- 2
Use clear meeting titles
Name meetings with the matter and topic, so the right conversation is easy to spot in search results.
- 3
Check the scope before you ask
Filter search by folder, or select a matter's meetings and chat about just those. The chat shows which meetings are included before you ask a question.
- 4
Open the original passage
Chat answers cite timestamped transcript passages. Check the source before relying on an answer in advice, a filing or a client update.
A working record, not an official transcript
Summit transcripts and summaries are AI-generated working notes. They can contain errors and are not a certified or verbatim record. Review the original transcript or audio before quoting a client or witness.
Why legal professionals choose Summit
No meeting bot
Summit records from your Mac instead of joining the call as a participant, for video calls and in-person meetings alike.
Start from a draft
Summit drafts a summary with key points and action items after each recording, so your file note starts from a draft instead of a blank page.
Recall with sources
Search past meetings for specific facts or statements, and follow chat citations back to the passage in the transcript.
Export when you choose
Export notes as Markdown to the destination you pick, such as a matter folder. Check where that folder syncs before you export.
