Summit for Healthcare Teams
Private meeting notes for healthcare teams
Care team huddles, case reviews, research meetings and practice operations all produce decisions someone has to find later. Summit turns recorded meetings into transcripts and summaries on your Mac, without a bot joining the call.
You choose where meeting audio and text are processed
Transcription runs on your Mac, and there is no Summit account holding your meeting library. Select Local Models and summaries and chat run on your Mac too. If you choose a cloud AI provider, it receives transcript excerpts and, for chat, your question with related topics, action items and meeting titles and dates, so confirm with your organization whether that provider is approved for the meetings you record. Markdown auto-export and iCloud sync are off until you turn them on.
The app does not separately encrypt its local database or recordings; they rely on macOS protections, so turn on FileVault and keep your Mac account locked down.
Patient consent, organizational policy and privacy law still apply. The architecture page lists exactly what is stored and what can leave your Mac.
Keep each team's meetings organized
- 1
Create a folder for each team or project
Give each committee, unit or study its own folder, and optionally a folder summary template so its meetings are written up the same way.
- 2
Use clear meeting titles
Name meetings with the team and topic, so the right conversation is easy to spot in search results.
- 3
Check the scope before you ask
Filter search by folder, or select the meetings you need and chat about just those. The chat shows which meetings are included before you ask a question.
- 4
Open the original passage
Chat answers cite timestamped transcript passages. Check the source before an answer goes into minutes, a protocol or a report.
Why healthcare teams choose Summit
No meeting bot
Summit records from your Mac instead of joining the call as a participant, for video calls and in-person meetings alike.
Start from a draft
Summit drafts a summary with key points and action items after each recording, so minutes start from notes instead of a blank page. Review them before they are shared.
Consistent team write-ups
Summary templates shape notes for case reviews, committee minutes and project updates.
Recall with sources
Search past meetings for specific decisions or follow-ups, and follow chat citations back to the passage in the transcript.
Meetings Summit fits
Care team and case review meetings
Keep track of decisions and owners from multidisciplinary meetings, where your organization's policy allows recording them.
Practice and hospital operations
Document staffing, quality improvement, vendor and planning meetings, and find what was agreed before the next one.
Research and study meetings
Keep a folder per study for protocol discussions, lab meetings and investigator calls.
Health coaches and consultants
Keep notes from client and partner meetings organized by engagement, with recording consent from everyone present.
Before you record in a healthcare setting
- Confirm with your compliance team which meetings may be recorded and whether patient information may be discussed in them
- Tell participants you are recording and get consent
- Select Local Models, or a cloud AI provider your organization has approved
- Turn on FileVault and use a locked macOS account
- Review AI-generated notes against the transcript before sharing them
