Summit for Independent Consultants
Client meeting notes you can find before the next call
When you work with several clients, each conversation needs a clear place. Summit turns recorded conversations into transcripts and summaries on your Mac, with folders to organize engagements and search to revisit earlier decisions.
You choose where client conversations are processed
Transcription runs on your Mac, and there is no Summit account holding your meeting library. Select Local Models and summaries and chat run on your Mac too. If you choose a cloud AI provider, it receives transcript excerpts and, for chat, your question with related topics, action items and meeting titles and dates, so review that setting before recording confidential conversations. Markdown auto-export and iCloud sync are off until you turn them on.
Recording consent and your client obligations still apply. The architecture page lists exactly what is stored and what can leave your Mac.
Keep client context separate in your workflow
- 1
Create a folder for each engagement
Give every client its own folder, and optionally a folder summary template so each meeting is written up the same way.
- 2
Use clear meeting titles
Name meetings with the client and topic, so the right conversation is easy to spot in search results.
- 3
Check the scope before you ask
Filter search by folder, or select that client's meetings and chat about just those. The chat shows which meetings are included before you ask a question.
- 4
Open the original passage
Chat answers cite timestamped transcript passages. Check the source before using an answer in a client deliverable.
Before the next client call
Find the earlier meeting, review what was agreed and use its original transcript to check dates and commitments. Summaries are a starting point, not a guarantee that every detail was captured.
Why consultants choose Summit
Start from a draft
Summit drafts a summary with key points and action items after each recording, so your write-up starts from notes instead of a blank page.
No meeting bot
Summit records from your Mac instead of joining the call as a participant, for video calls and in-person conversations alike.
Consistent client write-ups
Summary templates shape notes for client updates, project documentation and stakeholder follow-ups.
Recall with sources
Search past meetings for specific discussions, decisions or requirements, and follow chat citations back to the passage in the transcript.
Who it's for
Strategy consultants
Document stakeholder interviews, executive briefings, and strategic planning sessions. Keep complex projects on track with searchable meeting archives and clear action items.
Management consultants
Take notes from discovery calls, process reviews, and client workshops. Draft executive summaries and track project milestones.
Technology consultants
Record technical requirements gathering, architecture reviews, and client demos, then search for the decisions you need to revisit.
Fractional executives
Keep a folder for each organization so its context, decisions, and action items are easy to find when you switch between engagements.
